Slayers blend high mobility with high damage capabilities. It takes a certain flair to wield a massive weapon, and slayers wade into fights like a double-edged whirlwind. The slayer’s approach to combat is aggressive swordplay and overwhelming force—sweeping circular attacks to mow down enemies, agile dodges to get behind foes, and leaping backflip kicks that stun enemies and open distance for a big attack.
Despite their light armor, slayers can fight in the thick of things. They are faster and more mobile than berserkers, and like warriors, slayers can dodge out of harm's way and come up behind foes. This agility lets slayers excel at attacking enemies from the rear while tanks keep them busy from the other sides.
Slayers begin their careers with a punishing, wide-reaching combo attack and a rolling dodge that is custom made for setting up extra-damage attacks from the rear. They quickly learn to swing, thrust, leap, roll, flip, kick, and whirl, and their circular attacks are particularly effective at devastating encircling throngs bent on their destruction. A slayer’s power and versatility make this class an asset on any adventure.
Many slayer skills activate faster following others, making the slayer a dangerous and unpredictable opponent. Keep an eye on the screen for possible skill combos, and don’t be afraid to experiment with a few of your own.
The drawback to this power and speed is that a slayer’s MP decays rapidly when not in combat, and is expended nearly as fast while executing combos. So make liberal use of Triumphant Shout, Tenacity, and Combo Attack to keep your MP as full as possible.
