What's New:

Crusades:

Please see this post for a detailed explanation on Crusades and Skycastles!

  • Crusade seasons last for 28 days.
  • Guild Masters can choose to have their guild be in either the Challenger League (PvE) or Cutthroat League (PvP).
  • Guilds cannot switch leagues mid-season.
  • In Challenger League, guild members gain rank via the following content:
    • Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Normal Mode—High Score)
    • Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Hard Mode—High Score)
    • Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Accumulated Score)
    • Ravenous Gorge (High Score)
    • Ravenous Gorge (Accumulated Score)
    • Corsairs' Stronghold
    • Vault of Winter (High Score)
    • Vault of Seas (High Score)
    • Vault of Flames (High Score)
    • Achievements (Only achievements earned in current crusade season count towards ranking.)
  • In Cutthroat League, guild members gain rank via the following content:
    • Guild vs Guild Battles (GvG)
    • Fraywind Canyon
    • Corsairs' Stronghold
    • Champions' Skyring
    • Vault of Winter (High Score)
    • Vault of Seas (High Score)
    • Vault of Flames (High Score)
    • Sky Cruiser Endeavor (Hard Mode—High Score)
  • At the end of each season, the top ten guilds of each league will receive Skycastles.
    • Cutthroat League winners receive Skycastles in Velika Outskirts.
    • Challenger League winners receive Skycastles in Allemantheia Outskirts.
  • At the end of each season, the top three guilds of each league will receive Guild Flags and the top guild receives Guild Mounts.
  • There are six other Skycastles located elsewhere in TERA. If your guild ranked in the top 3 of the previous season in one of the leagues, but failed to rank in the top 10 in the following season, your guild will receive one of these castles for the season the guild fails to rank.

Skycastles

  • Skycastles are accessed through the pegasus platform or city teleportals of Velika or Allemantheia.
  • A particular Skycastle is only accessible to members of that guild.
  • Additions to your Skycastle are purchased by the guild master with Prestige points
    • Guilds earn Prestige points based on how they placed in the season:
      • First place—2000 Prestige points
      • Second place—1800 Prestige points
      • Third place—1600 Prestige points
      • Fourth Place—1400 Prestige points
      • Fifth Place—1200 Prestige points
      • Sixth Place—1000 Prestige points
      • Seventh to tenth Place—800 Prestige points
    • Guilds also gain Prestige points from guild members that rank in the top tiers for the content pertaining to your league.
      • Members can earn their guild 10 Prestige points per content per day.
      • For example, in the Cutthroat League, if a guild member places in the top 10 for both Corsairs' Stronghold and Fraywind Canyon for five days, then that member earns 100 Prestige Points for the guild. (10 for Corsairs', 10 for Fraywind, for five days: 20 x 5 = 100)
    • A guild can earn a maximum of 40,000 Prestige points before you have to spend it.
    • Prestige points stay with your guild, even if you lose your Skycastle or change Guild Masters. However, if your guild disbands, Prestige points associated with your guild are lost.
    • Only Guild Masters can spend Prestige points.
    • Prestige points are given out daily based on your guild members' rankings.
    • Prestige points can be spent on:
      • Cosmetic Additions to the Skycastle:
        • Keeps
        • Ramparts
        • Bridges
        • Pavilions
        • Gazebos
        • Ponds
        • Aqueducts
      • Merchants placed in the Skycastle:
        • Trade Broker
        • Banker
        • Sharan Merchant
        • Arunic Merchant
        • Bellicose Merchant
        • Specialty Merchant
        • Cosmetic NPCs
          • Cosmetic NPCs carry all kinds of cosmetic items that can be worn for free by guild members while in the Skycastle.
          • Cosmetic items gained through these NPCs expire 15 minutes after leaving the Skycastle.

Guild vs Guild Competitions

  • GvG no longer uses Bahaar's Spark of War
    • Increased Bahaar's Spark of War sell-back price to 3 gold.
    • Increased Kaia's Acquiescence sell-back price to 30 silver.
  • Guilds use Fame points to declare war on other guilds.
  • Guilds acquire Fame points based on how many accounts in the guild have level 60s or higher.
  • Fame points are handed out automatically each Wednesday based on the following rules:
    • A guild must have at least 30—but not more than 100—unique accounts with level 60s. If your guild does not meet those requirements, they will not be able to declare GvG.
    • If your guild does not meet the account requirements, you can still participate in the Cutthroat League, but you will not earn points from the GvG portion.
    • Each player account is allocated 60 Fame points per server. These Fame points are distributed across the guilds your level 60+ characters are in. This may seem confusing, so here are some examples.
      • Amy has six level 65 characters, and they are all in different guilds. So each of those guilds gets 10 Fame points from Amy (60 / 6 = 10).
      • Bryn has three level 60 characters, and three level 30 characters, all in different guilds. The three guilds with the level 60 characters will each receive 20 Fame points from Bryn. The characters under level 60 don't count against this distribution.
      • Cris has four level 65 characters, all in the same guild. That guild gets all 60 Fame points from Cris.
      • Dan has four level 65 characters. Three are in the same guild, and one is in another guild. The guild that the three characters are in will get 45 Fame points, and the guild that the one character is in will get 15 points.
  • To declare GvG on another guild, you must wager your Fame points on the outcome of the battle.
    • The minimum wager is 60 Fame points.
    • The maximum wager is half of what the guild with the least Fame points possesses. For example, if one guild has 1000 Fame points, and declares on a guild with 500 Fame points, the max wager is 250 Fame points (50 percent of 500).
  • Guild masters and designated guild ranks can declare GvG on another guild either through choosing from the Guilds on Server list or by right clicking a member of the opposing guild and choosing from the drop down menu.
  • Once GvG is declared, the opposing guild will receive a notification. They have three options:
    • Accept—accepts the wager and the battle begins.
    • Add More—increases the Fame points at stake.
    • Drop—your guild declines the GvG. When withdrawing, you will lose 2 percent of your TOTAL Fame points that your guild possesses. If your guild has less than 60 Fame, 1 Fame will be taken away. If your guild has less than 50 Fame, no penalty is given.  When dropping against the same guild over and over again, the % lost will double each time up to 32%.
    • If the challenging guild cancels the GvG declaration, 2% of the betting amount will be taken away from the challenging guild.
    • (clarification made 2/27/2015 4:27pm PST)
  • Refusing to respond to a declaration counts as a loss. To win a battle, you must:
    • Be the first guild to kill 200 members of the other guild, OR
    • Have the higher kill count in the 24-hour period of the GvG battle, OR
    • Opposing guild surrenders.
  • Upon Winning a GvG, you will gain the Fame wagered.
  • If either guild does not kill at least 30 players of the opposing guild, the match results in a draw. In a draw, both guilds lose the wagered Fame points.
  • Only seven guilds can declare on you at any one time. You have 24 hours to respond, and you do not need to respond right away.
  • You can only declare on three other guilds at any one time. So, you can be involved in a maximum of ten GvG battles at any one time.
  • You must have Fame to declare war on any guild. However, if you are NOT in the same Crusade league, you will not be able to wager Fame.
    • You can only win/lose Fame if you declare on guilds in your league. This applies to the Cutthroat League, Challenger League, and even no league.
    • So for example, let's say Guild A and B are in the Cutthroat league, Guild C is in the Challenger league, and Guild D is not in any league. All four guilds have Fame. If Guild A declares on Guild B, Fame must be wagered. If Guild A declares on Guild C or D, no Fame can be wagered.
  • At the end of each Crusade season, as long as you battled at least eight or more times within that season, the Fame points you gained via GvG will be calculated into your ranking in the Cutthroat League.
  • Special GvG Functions
    • Teleport
      • If a guild member is attacked by an opponent, another guild member can immediately move to them using the "Teleport" function.
      • This function is only available when GvG battle is going on. It can be used against a certain guild once every five minutes.
    • Locating Opposing Guild Members
      • You can locate opposing guild members while GvG is active.
    • Choosing Resurrection location
      • After death during a GvG battle, you can resurrect in a camp within the area.
  • After dying in a GvG, your nameplate changes color.
