TERA is a place where you'll spend hundreds of action-packed hours. The least we can do is make it as fun, challenging, and immersive as possible.
A great MMORPG is a place where you'll spend hundreds of hours, and TERA wants to make sure those hours are full of action and achievement, not boredom or frustration. We've tackled a long list of "polish" elements to make TERA as player-friendly as possible.
TERA fans, you're awesome! Just a few hours after the start of our Early Character Creation event, we already have our first full server: Valley of Titans. This PvP-ruleset server is now full with eager new recruits sporting your preferred names and meticulous customization. For those keeping score, it was also the most populated server during our Closed Beta Test events!
In response, we'd like to add a bit more room on the Valley of Titans server over the course of the next two days.
Are you participating in our Early Character Creation event this weekend? You may have noticed a few frames of the TERA launch cinematic as you furiously clicked through it to claim your first character's name! With your preferred name secured, you can now safely watch the video, titled "Beginnings", right here in this news post or on our YouTube channel.
The cinematic shows how the Valkyon Federation has come together to face a soulless army that threatens to engulf the world from the perspective of a baraka warrior-sage. Observant viewers will see each of TERA's seven playable races take part in the action, and will enjoy a sneak preview of the monsters they'll face and the places they'll visit. Combat—essential to an action MMO like TERA—takes center stage, and eagle-eyed fans will recognize some of the spells and attacks they'll use when TERA launches on May 1.
Waiting for our Early Character Creation event to start in just a few hours? Check out our recap of PAX East 2012 featuring our action-packed press demo of the Twilight Valley endgame area!
This lush garden has been overrun by the Argons, the mechanical menace hell-bent on terraforming TERA's world and killing off all organic life. The demo put a focus on team play and cooperation, and required good communication and coordination to keep the party's priest healing and lancer tanking throughout the battles.
Take action against TERA's toughest terrors...with dozens of friends and allies...while the world hangs in the balance. Not a bad way to spend a Monday night!
In remote corners of Northern Shara, something wants to emerge into the world of TERA. Monsters invade through a hole in reality called a nexus, then terrorize the surrounding area. You can join the battle at a moment's notice. Larger and scarier monsters pour out of the nexus as time goes on, but if you fight hard enough, you can close the nexus, keep part of the world safe—and earn a share of high-level loot.
Above all else, TERA is a game, and your enjoyment of it will depend a lot on memories of special moments and accomplishments you gain on your way to max level. But once you've played through 60 levels of pulse-pounding action combat, completed thousands of quests, fought your way through millions of monsters, what then?
Plenty. TERA's endgame is full of things to do, and some would say it's a reward in and of itself. Here are just a few of the things you can do at level 60, or rather, after it.

Who wants upgrades? Each of TERA's eight classes gets new skills that will almost make you feel sorry for the bad guys. Almost.
Combat is king in an action game like TERA, so we've added abilities that let you protect yourself with living stone, evade attacks while charging forward, aim your sword for the enemy's jugular, and heal your party on the move.
